Quale America? Questa America!
Un bellissimo poema ambientato in una musica suggestiva. Un volo tra aquila e terra. Un invito a ricordare l'essenziale, ciò che presiede alla vita. Il cielo, le stelle, il sole, la terra. E noi, siamo solo la sua pelle. Però questo "noi" include tutto ciò che vive, anche il vento, le acque. E tutto questo crea un sentiero di memoria. Un sentiero in cui nessuna impronta va mai dimenticata. È tutto costitutivo di un percorso in corso di scrittura .
Gli antenati guardano alla scrittura dell'America. Cosa fare di questa America, con la sua storia di colonizzazione delle nazioni indigene e della natura? Distruggerla in nome di questa storia? Oppure produrre una luce di speranza, ritrovando il senso di comune appartenenza alla terra d'America.

The song honors the spirit of Anna Mae Pictou-Aquash, a Mi'kmaq activist who dedicated her life to help Indian people everywhere, organizing social care, involved with educational projects and participating to protests. She was involved with the American Indian Movement (AIM), participated in the Wounded Knee occupation in 1973, became the higher-ranked woman in the AIM. She disappeared in December 1975 and was found murdered in February 1976. She was 30 years old. (For further details, see the accompanying notice to the song "Anna Mae" by Larry Long)
