Noi non ci saremo
Francesco GucciniQuella che segue e' la mia traduzione in inglese del testo cantato... | |
WE WILL NOT BE THERE We'll just see a fire ball broader than the sun, wider than the world; not a scream will resound just silence as a sudarium will spread between heaven and earth for a thousand centuries at least but we will not be there. Then for a year the rain will fall down from the sky and rivers will plough earth again, toward the oceans they will flow and still the strands will resound with waves and high in the sky the rainbow will shine but we will not be there. And mountains chains covered with snow will be the borders of fir trees forests no human hand will ever touch them, and still the strands will resound with waves and high, far away, the sky will clear up but we will not be there. And the summer wind that comes from the sea will tune up a song among thousands of ruins, among the remains of the cities, among houses and palaces that time will slowly crumble among cars and roads the new world will rise but we will not be there. And from the woods and from the sea life comes back again and once more Earth will be populated, with nights and days the sun will make one thousand season and earth again will scour the usual spaces for a thousand centuries at least but we will not be there. | WE SHALL NOT BE THERE We shall see just a fire ball bigger than the sun, larger than the world not a single shout will be sounded. And mountain chains covered with snow will border fir-tree forests never a man’s hand will touch them and just silence like a dead man’s sheet will wrap all things between the earth and the sky for a thousand centuries at least. But we shall not be there… And the summer wind coming from the sea will sing a song among piles of ruins among the debris of cities among houses and palaces that time will slowly bring down and the new world will rise among cars and streets. But we shall not be there… From woods and seas life will come back and the earth will be populated again. Nights after nights and days after days the sun will make a thousand seasons and again the world will fare along the old distances for a thousand centuries at least. But we shall not be there… |
