Franco tábornok besorolt ádáz katonának, nem szöktem meg, mert féltem, agyonlövet úgy. Féltem – azért harcoltam a haddal a jog s a szabadság ellen Irun falain. S így is elért a halál.	Il generale Franco mi arruolò tra feroci soldati. Ebbi timore d'essere fucilato e non fuggii. Ebbi timore – e così combattevo contro la libertà, contro il diritto sulle mura di Irún. Dove la morte mi raggiunse lo stesso.
