[2] The German song title "Wir ziehen in den Frieden" is a reference to "in den Krieg ziehen". Whereas the first is uncommon to German speakers, the latter means "to go to war". Udo Lindenberg (the author) has a very free understanding of using the German language, quite often he creates new words or phrases, perhaps just in order to rhyme or to express the opposite to a well known phrase, as is the case here. So the phrase "we're going to peace" is a new one, interpreting Lindenberg's new creation as exactly opposite to "we're going to war".

[4] The last two lines are not literally translated; the interpreter chose this form of translation because the German lyrics are a varied quoted slogan from the anti-war movement of the 1960s - 70s, which in German/English originally reads: Stell dir vor, es ist Krieg und keiner geht hin./What if we started a war and nobody came.
