SMIRNESMYRNA

Smirne brucia, madre, brucia e anche i nostri beniSmyrna, mother dear, is burning [1], and so is all that made up our lives
il nostro dolore non si dice non si scrive la nostra penaOur pain can not be told, our grief can not be written down.

Grecità grecità mai più ti placheraiRomiosyni, Romiosyni,[2] there is no rest for you
in pace vivi un anno e trenta nelle fiammeone year you live in peace, and thirty in the fire
Grecità grecità mai più ti placheraiRomiosyni, Romiosyni, there is no rest for you
in pace vivi un anno e trenta nelle fiamme….one year you live in peace, and thirty in the fire…

Smirne è perduta, madre, se ne vanno i nostri sogniSmyrna, mother dear, is burning, our dreams are done.

Grecità grecità mai più ti placheraiRomiosyni, Romiosyni, there is no rest for you
in pace vivi un anno e trenta nelle fiammeone year you live in peace, and thirty in the fire
Grecità grecità mai più ti placheraiRomiosyni, Romiosyni, there is no rest for you
in pace vivi un anno e trenta nelle fiamme…one year you live in peace, and thirty in the fire….
