CADESTE VITTIMEYOU FELL VICTIMS

Cadeste vittime, voi, fratelli,You fell victims, you, brothers,
In un'ìmpari Lotta e Battaglia. In an unfair Fight and Battle.
Cercando la vita, la libertà e l'onoreLooking for life, freedom and honor
Del popolo, avete trovato la tomba. [1]of the People, you found your grave. [1]
Spesso in umide e buie prigioniOften in damp and dark prisons
Passaste giornate amare,You spent bitter days,
E a un subitaneo gesto del boiaAnd at a sudden signal of the executioner
Vi portaron sùbito al patibolo...They brought you to the scaffold straight away...

Fan festa i tiranni, e sbevazzandoThe tyrants have a party , and while boozing
Cercan l'oblio [2] per trovarlo,They look for oblivion [2] to find it,
Ma i loro giorni son già contatiBut they have had their days.
E una fine orrenda li attendeAnd a horrible end awaits them.
S'ingigantisce adesso il PopoloNow the People is growing
E spezza ceppi e catene,And breaks logs and chains,
Eterno sia il vostro ricordo, fratelli,May your memory be eternal, brothers,
Nella Lotta in cui siete caduti...In the Fight where you fell ...
