IL TESTAMENTO DI NERITHE WILL OF NERI (First intermezzo)
To Giuda, who kissed me before putting his knife in my chest,
I leave the eternal, tormenting suspicion that he'd made a mistake.
To the sons of a justice which has always hidden the hand of the killer,
I leave the bitter duty of knowing themselves as sons of a bitch.
To the sons of your tomorrow, I leave my memory, not yours,
so that they'll learn the difference between lie and history.
To the lake, and his icy wind, I leave the memory of what I was,
the water tastes like the blood, has the same colour of a drowned dream.
To God, who showed me his back when I called him, as someone who's not looking at you,
I leave the same prey, not to be forgotten.
I hope that the flower which is keeping vigil at the warrior's beside,
will have years in which it's always May, so he does never fade.
To you, who traveled by my side as my daughter, lover and friend,
I leave the thankless illusion of having our last minutes for us.
If I have to forgive to go in the sky, I give up the saints and I keep my grudge
against those who have stolen my honour, have switched off my breath
and have taken off my love.
