THE HANGIN TREEAz akasztófa

Are you, are youJössz-e, jössz-e
Coming to the treeA fához
Where they strung up a manHol felakasztottak egy férfit
They say murdered three.Azt mondják, megölt három embert.
Strange things have happened hereFurcsa dolgok történtek ott
No stranger would it beNem is lenne furcsább
If we met at midnightHa találkoznánk éjfélkor
In the hanging tree.Az akasztófánál.

Are you, are youJössz-e, jössz-e
Coming to the treeA fához
Where the dead man called outHol a halott férfi kiáltott
For his love to flee.Szerelmének, hogy meneküljön el.
Strange things did happen hereFurcsa dolgok történtek ott
No stranger would it beNem is lenne furcsább
If we met at midnightHa találkoznánk éjfélkor
In the hanging tree.Az akasztófánál.

Are you, are youJössz-e, jössz-e
Coming to the treeA fához
Where I told you to run,Hol azt mondtam, szaladj,
So we'd both be free.S mindketten szabaddá leszünk.
Strange things have happened hereFurcsa dolgok történtek ott
No stranger would it beNem is lenne furcsább
If we met at midnightHa találkoznánk éjfélkor
In the hanging tree.Az akasztófánál.

Are you, are youJössz-e, jössz-e
Coming to the treeA fához
Wear a necklace of rope/hope*,Viselj egy remény nyakláncot
Side by side with me.Mellettem, velem együtt.
Strange things did happen hereFurcsa dolgok történtek ott
No stranger would it beNem is lenne furcsább
If we met at midnightHa találkoznánk éjfélkor
In the hanging tree.Az akasztófánál.
* In the film, Plutarch Heavensbee uses the film of Katniss singing as anti-Capitol propaganda and changes the lyrics from "necklace of rope" to "necklace of hope" to take away some of the morbid undertones. Plutarch then uses the song as a rebel anthem.
