OriginalDeutsche Übersetzung / Traduzione tedesca.
THE HANGIN TREELIED VOM HENKERBAUM
Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Where they strung up a man
They say murdered three.
Strange things have happened here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree.
Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Where the dead man called out
For his love to flee.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree.
Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Where I told you to run,
So we'd both be free.
Strange things have happened here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree.
Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Wear a necklace of rope/hope*,
Side by side with me.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree.
* In the film, Plutarch Heavensbee uses the film of Katniss singing as anti-Capitol propaganda and changes the lyrics from "necklace of rope" to "necklace of hope" to take away some of the morbid undertones. Plutarch then uses the song as a rebel anthem.
