3. Nuestro México, febrero 23 - La versione incisa dagli Inti-Illimani ...
The Punitive Expedition

In our Mexico, on the 23rd of February,
Carranza let the Americans go across.
Two thousand men and 300 airplanes,
looking for Villa throughout the countryside.

The expeditionary searches began,
and airplanes started to fly.
They went in many different directions,
looking for Villa, with plans to kill him.

But the soldiers who came from Texas
couldn't find Pancho Villa,
and fed up after eight hours on the road,
the poor things wanted to return.

The cavalrymen couldn't sit down
and the infantrymen couldn't walk.
Then Villa flew over on his airplane
and from above he yells: "Good-bye!"

When they believed Villa was dead, t
hey shouted in frenzy:
‎"Now, dear comrades,
we can go back to Texas covered with honor!"

But they didn't know Villa was still alive
and could never be defeated.
And if they wished to visit him,
they should go up to the mountains and see him.

When they sent their airplanes,
Villa prepared a plan.
He dressed as an American soldier
and also disguised his troops.

When the gringos saw the flags
with the stripes that Villa had painted,
they came down in their planes
and Pancho Villa took them prisoner.

The people in Chihuahua and Ciudad Juarez
were frightened and amazed
to see so many gringos and Carranza soldiers
that Villa left without ears.

What did those "big feet" think?
That cannons would frighten us?
They may have loads of airplanes,
but over here we have what really counts!‎
Nuestro México, febrero 23

Nuestro México, febrero veintitrés,
Dejó Carranza pasar americanos,
Diez mil soldados, seiscientos aeroplanos
