Rozdwojony.
Z jednej strony codzienny osobisty trud, z drugiej uczucie przynależności do rodzaju ludzi, którzy chcieli podźwignąć się, by swe życie odmienić naprawdę.

Niczym hipotetyczne mewy.
A teraz? Teraz także jesteśmy rozdarci.
Z jednej strony człowiek wtłoczony w rzeczywistość, z najwyższym namaszczeniem celebrujący swą mizerną ,codzienną egzystencję aby przetrwać.
Z drugiej-zastygłe, skurczone marzenie.
Mewa nie próbująca nawet latać.
Dwie nędze w jednym ciele.
SOMEONE WAS A COMMUNIST

Someone was a communist because he was born in Emilia.
Someone was a communist because his grandpa, his uncle, his dad... not his mom, however.
Someone was a communist because he saw Russia as a promise, China as a poem and Communist as the Garden of Eden.
Someone was a communist because he felt alone.
Someone was a communist because his education was too Catholic.
Someone was a communist because required by the cinema, by the painting art, by literature...it was required by everyone.
Someone was a communist because “History is on our side!”
Someone was a communist because he was told to be so.
Someone was a communist because he wasn't told everything.
Someone was a communist because he was once a fascist.
Someone was a communist because he understood that Russia went slowly, but far.
Someone was a communist because Berlinguer was a good fellow.
Someone was a communist because Andreotti wasn't a good fellow.
Someone was a communist because he was rich but loved the people.
Someone was a communist because he drank wine and got moved at popular festivals.
Someone was a communist because he was too strong an atheist, that he felt need of another God.
Someone was a communist because he was so fascinated by workers, that he wanted to become one of them.
Someone was a communist because he was tired of working.
Someone was a communist because he wanted a wage rise.
Someone was a communist because the middle class, the working class, the class struggle...it's easy, isn't it?
Someone was a communist because revolution won't be today, maybe tomorrow, sure the day after tomorrow...
Someone was a communist because “Long live Marx, Lenin and Mao Tse-tung”.
Someone was a communist to get his father scared.
Someone was a communist because he always listened to Rai 3.
Someone was a communist for fashion's sake, someone on principle, someone induced by frustration.
Someone was a communist because he wanted everything to be nationalized.
Someone was a communist because he didn't know the state, state-controlled and otherwise public employees.
Someone was a communist because he had taken “dialectic materialism” for “St Lenin's gospel”.
Someone was a communist because he was sure he was supported by the working class.
Someone was a communist because he was more communist than others.
Someone was a communist because there was the great Communist Party,
Someone was a communist in spite of the great Communist Party.
Someone was a communist because there was nothing better.
Someone was a communist because we have the worst Socialist Party in Europe.
Someone was a communist because there's no state worse than ours, with the possible exception of Uganda.
Someone was a communist because he was sick and tired he was having fucking shit governments since forty years.
Someone was a communist because of Fontana square, Brescia, Bologna station, Italicus train, Ustica and so on.
Someone was a communist because any opposer was a communist.
Someone was a communist because he couldn't bear anymore that dirty thing we keep on calling democracy.
Someone believed he was a communist, but he was maybe something else.
Someone was a communist because he thought freedom could and should be different from American freedom.
Someone was a communist because he thought he could be living and happy only if the others were so, too.
Someone was a communist because he needed an impulse to something new, because he was ready to change every day, because he felt need of a different ethic, because it was maybe only strength, flying, dreaming, it was only a burst of enthusiasm, a desire of changing everything and his own life.
Someone was a communist because all this led him to add something to himself, it was as if he were two persons in one. His personal, everyday toil on one side, and, on the other side, his feeling to be part of a race that wanted to soar in the air to really change life.
There's no regret. Maybe, even at that time, many had opened their wings without being able to fly, like hypothetical seagulls.
And now? We feel as if we were double, even now: the established man passing respectfully through his dreary everyday survival on one side, and, on the other, the seagull who doesn't even want to try and fly anymore, because his dreams have numbed.
Two kinds of misery in a sole body.
