Ὅταν ὁ Βάκχος ἔλθηι,Dès que Bacchus m'apparaît,
εὕδουσιν αἱ μέριμναι,mes chagrins s'endorment,
δοκῶ δ᾽ ἔχειν τὰ Κροίσου.je crois posséder tous les trésors de Crésus,
θέλω καλῶς ἀείδειν·et je fais entendre des sons plus aimables.
κισσοστεφὴς δὲ κεῖμαι,Étendu sur ma couche mollement,
πατῶ δ᾽ ἅπαντα θυμῶι.couronné de lierre,
ὅπλιζ᾽· ἐγὼ δὲ πίνω.il n'est rien que je ne foule aux pieds.
φέρε μοι κύπελλον ὦ παῖ·Combattez, moi je bois.
μεθύοντα γάρ με κεῖσθαιDonne-moi ma coupe, jeune enfant;
