| Il giorno in cui mi sposo ricevo l'ordine | The Day of my Wedding I was order'd to leave, |
| ordine d'andare in guerra a servire il re Luigi | To leave for the War to serve King Louis, |
| uscendo dalla chiesa m'è toccato partire. | On coming out of the Church I was commanded to leave. |
| Partenza è stata lunga, è durata sette anni | The Service did last so long, some seven Years or more. |
| alla fine del settimo il congedo mi han dato, | When seven Years were o'er I was given my Discharge, |
