LAST NIGHT I HAD THE STRANGEST DREAM

Last night I had the strangest dream,
I ever had before,
I dreamed the world had all agreed,
To put an end to war.

I dreamed there was a mighty room,
And the room was filled with meeting,
And the paper they were signing
Said they'd never fight again.

And when the paper was all signed,
And a million copies made,
They all joined hands and circled 'round,.
And grateful prayers were made.

And the people on the streets below
Were dancing 'round and 'round,
With swords and guns and uniforms
All scattered on the ground.
NÄIN YÖLLÄ UNTA KAUNIIMPAA

Näin yöllä untaa kauniimpaa
kuin ennen milloinkaan,
on sodat täältä loppuneet,
on rauha päällä maan.

Näin neuvonpitoon saapuvan
kansojen käskijäin.
He suureen kirjaan kirjoitti
nimensä vierekkäin.

He nousivat ja lausuivat:
on tullut aika uus.
On poissa täältä sotilaat,
on sotilaallisuus.

Nyt kaikki kansat riemuitsee,
käy tanssi, laulut soi.
Kuin siskot, veljet toisilleen
maljoja juoda voi.

Näin yöllä untaa kauniimpaa
kuin ennen milloinkaan,
on sodat täältä loppuneet,
on rauha päällä maan.
