Il manifesto di convocazione per il concerto di Raimon del 18 maggio 1968

<br />

Nel 2008, passati 40 anni, Raimon è finalmente tornato a cantare all’Università madrilena.

I la ciutat era jove,
aquell 18 de maig.
Sí, la ciutat era jove,
aquell 18 de maig
que no oblidaré mai.

Per unes quantes hores
ens vàrem sentir lliures,
i qui ha sentit la llibertat
té més forces per viure.

De ben lluny, de ben lluny,
arribaven totes les esperances,
i semblaven noves,
acabades d'estrenar:
de ben lluny les portàvem.

Per unes quantes hores
ens vàrem sentir lliures,
i qui ha sentit la llibertat
té més forces per viure.

Una vella esperança
trobava la veu
en el cos de milers de joves
que cantaven i que lluiten.

No l'oblidaré mai,
no l'oblidaré mai,
aquell 18 de maig,
no l'oblidaré mai,
aquell 18 de maig
a Madrid.

18 DE MAYO EN LA "VILLA"

Y la ciudad era joven
aquel 18 de mayo.
Sí, la ciudad era joven,
aquel 18 de mayo
que no olvidaré nunca.

Por unas cuantas horas
nos sentimos libres,
y el que ha sentido la libertad
tiene más fuerzas para vivir.

De muy lejos, de muy lejos,
llegaban todas las esperanzas,
y parecían nuevas,
recién estrenadas:
de muy lejos las traíamos.

Por unas cuantas horas
nos sentimos libres,
y el que ha sentido la libertad
tiene más fuerzas para vivir.

Una vieja esperanza
encontraba voz
en el cuerpo de miles de jóvenes
que cantaban y que luchan.

No lo olvidaré nunca,
no lo olvidaré nunca,
aquel 18 de mayo,
no lo olvidaré nunca,
aquel 18 de mayo
en Madrid.

18 MAI À MADRID

Et la ville était jeune
ce 18 mai-là.
Oui, la ville était jeune
ce 18 mai-là,
que je n'oublierai pas.

Pendant quelques heures
nous nous sentîmes libres,
et qui a senti la liberté
a plus de forces pour vivre.

De très loin, de très loin
arrivaient tous les espoirs,
et ils paraissaient neufs,
tout juste étrennés:
de bien loin nous les apportions.

Pendant quelques heures
nous nous sentîmes libres
et qui a senti la liberté
a plus de forces pour vivre.

Une vieille espérance
prenait corps
dans la voix de milliers de jeunes
que chantaient et qui luttent encore.

Jamais je ne l'oublierai,
jamais je ne l'oublierai,
ce 18 mai-là,
jamais je ne l'oublierai,
ce 18 mai-là
à Madrid.

18TH OF MAY IN MADRID

And the city was young
that 18th of May.
Yes, the city was young
on that 18th of May
that I'll never forget.

For a few hours
we managed to feel free,
and he who has felt free
has got more strength to live.

From afar, from afar
arrived all the hopes,
and they seemed to be new,
like new clothes:
from afar we brought them.

For a few hours
we managed to feel free,
and he who has felt free
has got more strength to live.

An old hope
found a voice
in the bodies of thousands of youths
who were singing and are fighting.

I shall never forget,
I shall never forget,
that 18th of May,
I shall never forget,
that 18th of May
in Madrid.
