Deir Ez-Zor

Lucia Moon
Language: English

Rivers bloody red, silence shouting “ Threat !”
Beast has led its’ war to Deir Ez-Zor
Noble people fight for their Human Rights
For their Christian faith they were killed, raped.

And all I hear is: “ Shh!”
They were my blood my flesh
What do I pray for? For Deir Ez-Zor
And all I hear is: “ Shh !”
The world has closed its’ ears
Why do I cry for?
For Deir Ez-Zor.

Once expensive clothes to the holes were worn
Like their souls they’re torn at Deir Ez-Zor
Women threw themselves into river near by
Followed by their kids, no more shame, fear!

And all I hear is: “ Shh!”
They were my blood my flesh
What do I pray for? For Deir Ez-Zor
And all I hear is: “ Shh !”
The world has closed its’ ears
Why do I cry for?
For Deir Ez-Zor.

Many of them died, looking at Euphrates
Not allowed to drink from it, not a soul, not a sip,
Hungry child has said:
“Mother! When I am dead, don’t give out my flesh to Turks,
you eat it, you need food!”

And all I hear is: “ Shh!”
They were my blood my flesh
What do I pray for? For Deir Ez-Zor
And all I hear is: “ Shh !”
The world has closed its’ ears
Why do I cry for?
What do I pray for?
Why do I live for?
For Deir Ez-Zor.
