Chansons contre la Guerre de Pete Young

Pete Young hails from the East End of Glasgow. Educated at Alexandra Parade, Whitehill School, Langside College. Left Glasgow in 1974 to study in England and in late 1979 went on a short, three-month stay to Scandinavia. Thirty years later the three-month stay still hasn't ended. Worked in language teaching, freelance, and in 1994 started The School Times (see: schooltimes.com), a monthly newspaper/magazine written for teachers and students learning English as a second language. The School Times is used throughout the Nordic countries and Pete is the editor and publisher. Poetry and music have been an interest since childhood and many of his songs are poems set to music. As far as influences go he says there are, 'Loads, although some main ones are Donovan, The Beatles, and James Taylor.' Pete's music could be described as 'pop for grown-ups'. The acoustic material has a Celtic flavour while the more electric songs betray a wide range of influences. Based in Northern Zeeland in Denmark his other interests are Michelle, Steven, two cats and a dog.
