Ramón Salgado was born and raised in Todos Santos, on the Pacific coast of Baja California Sur, Mexico and currently resides in Cabo San Lucas. Ramon says, "I have 10 brothers and sisters. I started playing the guitar when I was 6. We could not afford music lessons so I learned from the earth, sky, and ocean." They continue to inspire his music today. As a young child Ramon was always playing the guitar of a cousin and his aunt scolded him for it. But he could not control his love for music and continued to pursue it. He graduated from college with a teaching degree and taught for one year. Then he decided to devote his life to singing. He became dedicated to not only sharing his own music publicly, but to also promoting the music of other local musicians. He was so driven that he organized the Musician's Association in Cabo San Lucas and served as its president for many years.
Every note from Ramon's rich baritone voice comes straight from his heart. His repertoire includes traditional Spanish, American light rock, country/western, and original romantic ballads. The inspiration for the title song on this album was a result of Ramon's first trip to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, where he saw snow for the first time. Later that day he performed at the famous Red Rocks Amphitheater. Within minutes a crowd of enthusiastic new fans assembled. A bird landed on the rocks behind the stage and began chirping in rhythm. Then more birds joined in. Ramon was so moved by the experiences of the day that he wrote No Más Guerra (No More War). This album is dedicated to his wish for World Peace.
