Val Davis is a singer/songwriter who since 2002 has been getting some notice. In 2002 he was a finalist at the SolarFest singer/songwriter competition. In 2003 his music was featured on National Public Radio (NPR) and his music is currently getting airplay at several college stations around the US including XPN in Philadelphia. Val and his family returned to Vermont in Dec 2003 where he does web design and internet broadcasting.

I started playing bass at 13, then started acoustic guitar at 15 or 16. I have been performing since the mid 80s. I first recorded in 1991 with Mark Hallman at Congress House Studios ( in Austin Texas. Mark has worked with some amazing names. I recorded the majority of my album in my home studio. It’s my name. Seriously.

Do you play live?

I love performing live almost as much as I enjoy recording.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

It’s a whole new game with the whole world at my fingertips.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Yes..if the terms are right.

CSNY, James Taylor, Pink Floyd, Paul Simon, Aerosmith, Boston, Led Zepplin, Peter Gabriel, etc.

Favorite spot?

Whereever my wife and kids are.
