Cat Power, nome d'arte di Charlyn "Chan" Marshall, nata Charlyn Marie Marshall (Atlanta, 21 gennaio 1972), è una cantautrice statunitense.

Acclamata come una delle migliori cantautrici emerse dalla scena alternative rock degli anni novanta,[1] il suo talento compositivo intimista e minimale e la sua musica hanno subito una costante evoluzione che, dal suono "dark-folk" degli esordi, fatto di sonorità acustiche e canzoni arrangiate in modo essenziale, è passato attraverso l'assimilazione di elementi tipicamente rock, gospel, blues, country e soul, e nei dischi successivi si é completato con l'utilizzo di ritmi elettronici e funky , grazie alle ultime produzioni.
