"Indiana's Bernie Roth, was a butcher who lived in Gary, Indiana...was also a songwriter and brought songs in to Chess Records which were good blues songs (Forty Days and Forty Nights, Just To be With You,...). Also brought songs into VeeJay Records recorded by The Spaniels and other Doo Wop and vocal groups. To our knowledge he is alive and well and living in Indiana." (Feb 18th 1999)
