Brutus' Daughters es una banda de punk-folk que nace en la zona sur de Madrid. Manteniendo una formación clásica de punk, introducen gaita asturiana y violín como manera de crear el tipo de música de la cual han recibido la mayor influencia.

Todos los miembros han pertenecido a otras bandas de punk, hxc,oi!, folk procedentes de diferentes partes de España, y por eso sus influencias son tan variadas.

Las canciones están escritas en idiomas como el Castellano, Llingua Asturiana e Inglés, sin cerrarse a dar voz a otros dialectos. En cuanto a los temas, algunas de las letras reflejan el valor de la amistad envuelto en una "cultura de taberna", mientras que otros contienen un claro mensaje político-social, denunciando el maltrato al que los más desfavorecidos se ven sometidos a causa del abuso de autoridad.

La literatura de minorías étnicas, autobiografías, y rastros de una mitología profundamente arraigada en la tradición celta han servido de fuente para muchos de ellos. El rescate de las lenguas en peligro de extinción es una de sus preocupaciones, por eso la necesidad de preservarlas, junto con una visión social de lo que está a su alrededor, condiciona en gran parte la temática de sus canciones.

Además, musicalmente, existe una clara influencia folk,como consecuencia de ello, es sencillo encontrar en su repertorio melodías en forma de gigas, reels, hornpipes y también "sea songs" o canciones de marineros.

Brutus' Daughters is a punk-folk band which was born in 2008 in Carabanchel, a southern Madrilian suburb.
Having a classic punk band formation, they introduced both an Asturian bagpipe and a fiddle as a way to create the kind ofmusic from which they have taken great influence.

All of the members once belonged to other national punk, hxc, oi! and folk bands coming from different parts of Spain, and that's why their influences are so many.

The songs are written in languages such as Castilian, Asturian and English. Concerning the subjects, some of the lyrics reflect the value of friendship involved in the 'shebeen' culture, while others contain a socio-political message, dennouncing the mistreat underpriviledged people has to suffer because of the abuse of authority.

Literature from ethnical minorities,autobiographies, and traces from mythology deeply rooted in celt tradition have served as a source for many of them. The rescue of endangered languages is one of their concerns, the cultural richness and the linguistic variety is such that the need of preserving them, together with a social view of what is around them, is a must for their song's inspiration.

Also, Folk influence is undeniable. As a consequence, it is easy to find in their repertoire melodies shaped in jigs, reels, and hornpipes, as well as sea songs.

After releasing their first album in 2010, they have just recorded their second LP, which was released on 28th June 2013.
