1974 is a five-piece progressive/classic rock band whose debut album, "1974 & The Battle For The Lazer Fortress", is a full- length sci-fi concept epic the Hartford Courant calls "an ambitious effort, in concept and musicianship...an accomplished album from a young band worth watching." The following year, 1974 became "Best New Band" in the Advocate's first official CT Music Awards.
