Electric AngelsTranscript from an Interview with the Electric Angels.

Bob Kingdon - Guitars and Vocals, 52 years old, from Erith, England, of The Asylum Project
And Eric Daum, American, - Keys, loops, guitar, vocals…

We are the trans-Atlantic alliance of Bob Kingdon from England and Eric Daum from New England. We are a virtual band inspired by the music of Bill Nelson, Power Pop and girls in short skirts and tight shirts. Bob handles the guitars, Eric, the keyboards, loops and programming as well as dabbling with his ancient Rickenbacker on a few songs. Both Bob and Eric sing and share songwriting. In addition, we sometimes set the poems of Carole Young, a Scottish poet to music.
Eric: – I am an architect and find that I approach musical composition like a building design. I have always been a frustrated musician; my ideas far outstripped my technique. Though I could never call myself a musician now, the tools of technology have given me an opportunity to express and share some of those ideas. The Architect Sketch is a catch all for my explorations and evokes a range of influences from King Crimson, Roxy Music, Primal Scream and various electropop. Core Ten is an homage to the early electronic pop of John Foxx. It is decidely synthetic sound and execution and faintly nostalgic for a time when Modernity was fraught with terror and not merely hackneyed and co modified as it is today's Neo-modernism.

Bob and Eric have been helping each other out on a host of projects for over a year and decided to formalize their association in honor of Bill Nelson's 60th Birthday Project:
Bob brings to the partnership a great Power Pop sensibility and an earthshaking Yamaha SG2000; Eric brings an obsessive compulsive's penchant for tinkering on complex mixes and cold beer. (He's the American after all)

Electric Angels, named for Bill Nelson's song, Electricty Made Us Angels, is a collaboration with the very talented Englishman Bob Kingdon. We are a sort of virtual transatlantic Power Pop band, brought together by a love of Bill Nelson, T-Rex, Matthew Sweet, Roxy Music and women in lingerie.

The Symbolists are a collaborative band I share with Carole Young, The Oracle, dreamy, romantic, wistful and melancholy.

Why this name?

I’ve already said that. ..Inspired by Bill Nelson's "Electricity Made Us Angels", electricity made us a band.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

Without the internet, we never would have "met", never would have produced music together.

Your influences?

Rock and Roll, Girls, Cars, Sci-fi, Runny Cheese.
