What's Left of the Flag

What's Left of the Flag
[2002]
Album: Drunken Lullabies

The song "What's Left of the Flag" by Flogging Molly speaks to the sufferings of war and the grief it brings to families being torn apart by violence. It speaks to the idea that we must remember those who died in conflict and commemorate them, that their stories must live on with our struggle and fight for freedom. The song is a powerful paean to those who gave their lives for their country, to those who were brave of heart and those whose courage will remain an inspiration throughout generations. The chorus ultimately calls for us to raise what’s left of the flag as a tribute and homage to the ideals of freedom and liberty, and as a reminder of the ultimate cost of war.

Tobacco Island

Tobacco Island
2004
Within a mile of home
