FROM THE CAVE On the eve of a fresh ring of bells Flashes of harmony relegated a childhood To the treasured innocence of a voluptuous age The only certainty appearance bestowed upon me I grew up on the path of the usual dispensing Of roles already assigned as inheritances by families In the company of a benevolent appearance Primordial doubts behind an impulse to run away Virgin uprightness found shelter In a cave which for a while managed to protect The doubts of a tender childhood Lucid impulses for our first paces As youthful reason approached I drove dawn onto the the saddle of truthful feelings Stripped bare now by violent sobriety Of the ancient sun that used to shine upon us I glimpsed sudden bursts of lightening sparked by an impulse During the explosion of wretched conceit I now gazed as what was benevolent was stripped bare Time hurled me out of my cave And now banished from humanity I drag off the orphan roots of a life to be grasped And alone, of my choice, an orphan abandoned by humanity I reach new shores to heal feeble ages And with a proud gait drag off My choice of leaving as to not confine My wandering within trades chosen for me |
