"Simple Song of Freedom"
Written by Bobby Darin

tim hardin
Come and sing a simple song of freedom
Sing it like you've never sung before
Let it fill the air
Tell the people everywhere
We, the people here, don't want a war.

Hey there, Mister Black Man can you hear me?
I don't want your diamonds or your game
I just want to be someone known to you as me
And I will bet my life you want the same

Come and sing a simple song of freedom
Sing it like you've never sung before
Let it fill the air
Tell the people everywhere
We, the people here, don't want a war.

Seven hundred million are you listening?
Most of what you read is made of lies
But speaking one to one, ain't it everybody's sun
To wake to in the morning when we rise?

Come and sing a simple song of freedom
Sing it like you've never sung before
Let it fill the air
Tell the people everywhere
We, the people here, don't want a war.

No doubt some folks enjoy doing battle
Like presidents, Prime ministers and kings
So let's all build them shelves where they can fight among themselves
And leave the people be who love to sing.

Come and sing a simple song of freedom
Sing it like you've never sung before
Let it fill the air
Tell the people everywhere
We, the people here, don't want a war.

Come and sing a simple song of freedom
Sing it like you've never sung before
Speaking one to one, ain't it everybody's sun
To wake to in the morning when we rise?

Brother Solzhenitsyn, are you busy?
If not, won't you drop this friend a line?
And tell me if the man, who is plowing up your land
Has got the war machine upon his mind?

Hey lì, Signor Uomo Nero, puoi sentirmi?

700 milioni, siete in ascolto?

Come i presidenti, i Primi Ministri e i re

tutti sappiano di me

Quanti hai armato e arruolato?

Fratello Solzhenitsyn, sei impegnato?
Se no, t’aiuto io nella tua terra.
E dimmi, sii cortese,
chi pianifica il paese
ha in mente solo macchine da guerra?

Ma a tanta gente piace guerreggiare, sian presidenti, premiers o re.
Diamo a tutti quanti un “ring”:
che si battano tra lor lì
e lascino in pace chi ama cantare.

Solo la Giustizia porta Pace
e giusto è solo un mondo condiviso.
Non vogliamo più confini
e come il sole mai padroni.
Lui tutti sveglia , al sorgere al mattino.

Della Libertà questo è il mio canto.
Cantalo anche tu come hai fatto mai.
Lascialo volare

Licensed for use by Vic Sadot's Crazy Planet Band on "9/11 Truth & Justice Songs" released on 9/11/11. This is a lyrical update Bobby Darin's 1969 anthem to struggle!
COME AND SING A SIMPLE SONG OF FREEDOM

Come and sing a simple song of Freedom
Sing it like you've never sung before
Let it fill the air
Tell the people everywhere
We the People! We don't want your war!

Hey there Mister Rich Man! Can you hear me?
I don't want your mansion or your shame!
I just want to house and feed my family!
Don't want your wars of terror in my name!

Come and sing a simple song of Freedom!
Sing it like you've never sung before!
Let it fill the air!
Tell the people everywhere!
We the People! We don't want your war!

How many have you armed and enlisted?
We've seen the way you demonize with lies!
You're the masters of the media we've resisted!
Full of lies to divide and destabilize!

Come and sing a simple song of Freedom!
Sing it like you've never sung before!
Let it fill the air!
Tell the people everywhere!
We the People! We don't want your war!

Come on people! Don't buy propaganda!
Don't buy the corporate media's dirty lies!
It's a bloody game
by those who have no shame!
To feed their greed and power, Freedom dies!

Come and sing a simple song of Freedom
Sing it like you've never sung before
Let it fill the air
Tell the people everywhere
We the People! We don't want your war!

Only by making Justice can Peace be won!
And sharing all the "Commonwealth" is wise!
It's everybody's earth! And it's everybody's sun!
To wake to in the morning when we rise!

Come and sing a simple song of Freedom!
Sing it like you've never sung before!
Let it fill the air!
Tell the people everywhere!
We the People! We don't want your war!

No doubt ruling class groups want war profits..
Like Presidents, Prime Ministers, and Kings..
And Corporate CEO's want us to fight their foes..
While puppets on their strings do violent things!

Come and sing a simple song of Freedom
Sing it like you've never sung before
Let it fill the air
Tell the people everywhere…
We the People! We won't fight your wars!

Simple Song Of Freedom is written and composed by Bob Darin (1936-1973).

Holger Terp - 2010/1/31 - 11:42
