Boom 28System of a Down

About how money is spent on weapons and bombs for war when it could be spent on much better things. People are starving, seriously ill, and need help and war is wrong and nothing good comes out of it. It was released at a time when America was going through conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Before the US invaded Iraq, there were massive worldwide protests. The video was real footage of these protests, with people reciting the words to the song and voicing their opinions.
The lyrics were written by Serj Tankian and Daron Malakian. Music by Daron Malakian. (thanks, Nick - Paramus, NJ)

(From "Songfacts")
I'm walking through your streets
Where all your money's earning
Where all your buildings crying
And clueless neckties working
Revolving fake lawn houses
Housing all your fears
Desensitized by T.V.

Overbearing advertising
God of consumers
And all your crooked pictures looking good
Mirrors filtering information through the public eye
Designed for profit sharing
Your neighbor, what a guy

Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom,
Every time you drop a bomb
You kill the god your child has born
Boom, Boom, Boom,

Modern globalization
Coupled with condemnations
Unnecessary death
Matador corporations
Puppeting your frustrations with a blinded flag
Manufacturing consent is the name of the game
The bottom line is money nobody gives a fuck

40000 hungry children
Leave us per hour from starvation
While billions are spent on bombs
Creating death showers

Boom, Boom, Boom,
Every time you drop a bomb
You kill the god your child has born

Boom, Boom, Boom,
Every time you drop a bomb
You kill the god your child has born

Boom, Boom, Boom,
Every time you drop a bomb
You kill the god your child has born

Why must we kill our own child?

Boom, Boom, Boom,
Every time you drop a bomb
You kill the god your child has born

Boom, Boom, Boom,
Every time you drop a bomb
You kill the god your child has born

Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom
Every time you drop the bomb

Versione italiana di "Marlon" (Marchetti29@libero.it)
BOOM!

dove tutti i tuoi soldi ottieni,
dove tutti i tuoi edifici piangono,
e senza definizione nodi alla gola lavorano,
roteante falso prato recintato,
vi alloggiano tutte le tue paure,
desensibilizzate dalla tv,
arrogante pubblicità,
Dio del consumerismo,
e tutte le tue deformi immagini,
guarda bene, ti riflettono,
informazioni filtranti,
per gli occhi pubblici,
designato per approfittarne,
tuo vicino, che tipo

Boom, boom, boom, boom
Boom, boom, boom, boom

Globalizzazione moderna,
accoppiata con la condanna,
innecessarie morti,
corporazioni matador,
murattinando le tue frustazioni,
con la bandiera acciecata,
fabbricazione consentita,
è il nome del gioco,
la linea finale è il denaro,
nessuno si fotte,
4000 bambini affamati muoiono ogni ora,
di fame,
mentre billioni vengono spesi sulle bombe,
creando docce di morte

Boom, boom, boom, boom
Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom

perchè noi dobbiamo uccidere
la nostra gentilezza

Boom, boom, boom, boom
Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom

Il ritornello "Every time you drop the bomb you kill the God your child has born" significa: "Ogni volta che scagli la bomba uccidi il Dio che ha fatto nascere tuo figlio".
