Dall'album di canzoni contro la guerra Sota Kirottu!

skir
Tanssiaiskutsun sain linnaan kuninkaan:
"Lähdössä juuri oon kauas sotimaan!
Yksin en tahtoisi sotaa aloittaa" - Kutsun sain.

Tanssiaiskutsun sain linnaan kuninkaan:
"Vihollinen hyökkäsi - sen taisin nujertaa!
Yksin en tahtoisi sitä juhlistaa!" - Kutsun sain.

Tanssiaiskutsun sain linnaan kuninkaan:
"Valtaisan voiton sain, sitä juhlitaan!
Yksin en tahtoisi maljaa kohottaa!" - Kutsun sain.

Tanssiaiskutsun sain linnaan kuninkaan:
"Rampoja, rujoja on kaikki sotilaas!
Ken ritareistasi neidot tanssittaa?" - Kutsun sain.

Tanssiaiskutsun sain linnaan kuninkaan:
"Itsekin neidot voin toki tanssittaa!
Leikari valmiina on jo soittamaan!" - Kutsun sain.

Hautajaiskutsun sain linnaan kuninkaan:
"Hengetön kuningas hautaan puetaan.
Ei taistot pystyneet häntä kaatamaan!" - Kutsun sain.

Tanssivat tyttöset kuoloon kaatoivat
Viehkeät neitoset häntä saattoivat
Juhlien kuningas vietiin poveen maan - Kutsun sai!

THE BOASTING KING

I was invited to the King's grandious ball:
” I shall go far away to fight in noble war!
I shall not start a war by being all alone ” - I was there.

I was invited to the King's grandious ball:
”Under attack we came – I think we beat them all!
I shall not celebrate by being all alone” – I was there.

I was invited to the King's grandious ball:
” We got the victory: The finest one – they call!
I shall not raise a toast by being all alone” – I was there.

I was invited to the King's grandious ball:
I said :”You crippled , lamed Thy soldiers in the war!
Who could be well enough to dance me to the dawn?” I was there.

I was invited to the King's grandious ball:
” I shall be well enough to dance the ladies all!
My troubadour is here waiting for my call.” I was there.

I was invited to the King's funeral:
” King passed away, now him for casket dress we shall.”
Swords could not take his life, nor arrows strike him down. I was there.

Ladies so beautiful, escorted him to death.
Maidens so nice and fair finally gave him rest.
With a grandious dance they buried him in the ground. He is there.

Dissi: “Avete mutilato e storpiato i soldati in guerra!
Chi sta così bene da ballare con me fino all’alba?”. Io c’ero.

Io c’ero.

Bellissime dame gli fecero il corteo funebre,
Graziose fanciulle gli augurarono l’eterno riposo.
Con un gran ballo lo misero sottoterra. E sta là.
