Transcript from an Interview with ILLigitt..

ILLigittI've been writing rhymes since February 7th, 2001. I remember the date because it was exactly a week before Valentine's Day, and I wanted to do something to surprise my girlfriend. It's too wack and embarassing to share, so don't ask because I'm gonna tell you to go get beat in the face with a flaming spatula. I knew it sucked, but it was something I enjoyed doing, and I really wanted to get better at it. So I did just that, I bought a notebook and started writing all my lyrics in it. About a year later when we moved here I started battling cats a lot, and that's basically where I picked up all the things I know now. When I went to Patton Junior High in '01-'02, I performed for the very first time onstage at the talent show, everyone loved it. Shortly after that I recorded a extremely shit quality 3-track demo album. I gave out somewhere around 36 copies and everyone seemed to love it, they'd burn it for their friends and stuff. So then my Freshman year at LHS I released a full-length, better-quality compilation of songs. Me and a couple of my friends gave out over 200 copies of that. You can check out a couple of the songs at my other The real version can be bought via my website: www.caucasianprophet.com
At 19 year-old aspiring musician currently residing in Leavenworth, KS. I've been rapping since I was 13. I sucked at it until I was 14 and I've been good at it since I was 15. I've fucking ruled at it since I was 16 and I started getting better when I was 17. I became so amazing that I required a human sacrifice when I turned 18. I turned 19 and still have not received what is now my annual sacrifice, so now I refuse to keep making music until someone appeases me. My penis is several minutes long, and I am un-full of shit like you wouldn't believe.

Why this name?
If a white guy tries to do almost anything a black guy does, he's a "wigger". It doesn't matter if he raps for love of the art, you're not supposed to do it because it's a "black" thing. So I was basically like, alright, I'm not legit. I know I can rap, but still, I'm not legit. Therefore, I am ILLigitt. I'm starting to hate this name, though. I started using it back when I WAS a wigger, and now I'm tired of it.

Do you play live?
I have played live numerous times before and I enjoyed it a lot. I'd love to do it again and I most definitely will continue to.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well, it's a double-edged sword. It's great for exposure, but at the same time it totally saturates the market, thus making one person's exposure less likely.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If the circumstances are right, I may.

Your influences?
Michael Jackson is my main influence. He's my favorite artist of all time and has inspired me a lot. Believe it or not, Marcel Lee (www.marcellee.com) and his creativity has inspired me a lot, as well. So have a lot of the battling heads on the D12World forum (especially looking at threads from back in '01, when it was in its prime). Just being in the general atmosphere is great inspiration to keep doing what I'm doing. I love it.

Favorite spot?
West Point, NY is one of my favorites, mainly because I have a lot of memories there. Philly is great too.

Some of the songs on here were recorded with my $50 RadioShack mic. "Hot Shit" is where the better quality stuff starts.

Anything else...?
It can all be found on www.caucasianprophet.com, bishes.
