One Drop based in San Diego, California embraces the spirit of classic Roots Reggae and Dub music with a calculated blend of R&B, Pop and Rock subtleties. Inspired by artists like Steel Pulse, Gregory Isaacs and The Police. One Drop's music is infectious and well received by a wide range of age and cultural demographics. Critics describe their sound as genuine and captivating, filled with melodic choruses, refreshing vintage guitar/organ tones all cleverly layered over seductive bass lines. The voice of One Drop is soulfully delivered with brutally honest lyrics rooted from true-life experiences of love, growing up in a dysfunctional home and social & political taboos.
On June 26th, 2012, One Drop released their highly anticipated sophomore album titled "Black Book Diaries" featuring guest performances from a former English Beat and a cover of Men at Work's 80's hit "Down Under". The album debuted at #2 on ITunes Reggae Charts and landed in The Billboards top 10 in reggae albums.
With great song writing and musical arrangements executed with retro equipment and out-board effects from 1970's, One Drop exceeded fans high expectations. A tremendous amount of attention and detail went into this album, which features 16 new songs.
The inception of One Drop (a name describing a traditional reggae drum beat popularized by Carlton Barrett of The Wailers) began over a decade ago when introductions were made in a San Diego college music class. The band began to gig aggressively in 2006 and fans got their first taste of recordings in 2007 with the release of their self-titled EP. By 2008 they had developed a huge regional following and in May that same year released their acclaimed debut CD "Mission Blvd" which yielded hit songs "Little Black Dress", "She's Gone" and "No Good Reason". Nominated by San Diego Music Awards for "Best Local Recording", this pivotal CD has launched One Drop onto an international stage with impressive worldwide sales and downloads. To this day "Mission Blvd" continues to rank high on iTunes reggae charts in the U.S., Canada, Greece, Mexico, Norway, Spain, and Switzerland.

With the reputation as a "must see act", the band packs venues and performs live shows with high energy, playfully engaging the audience into dance and sing-alongs. One Drop has toured heavily in the U.S. and Internationally (Ecuador, Mexico and Guam) at times sharing the stage with artists such as, Steel Pulse, Ben Harper, The English Beat, G Love, The Dirty Heads, Slightly Stoopid, Soja, Rebelution, Iration, Tribal Seeds and more while receiving support and corporate interest from companies like ERGO and Reef apparel.
